6 month fixed term contract Newcastle city centre £30-35k per annum FTE. Jackson Hogg Procurement division are delighted to be partnering with a large, reputable business in Newcastle city centre on the appointment of an Assistant Procurement Partner to join their team, initially on a 6 month fixed term contract basis. As this is a fixed term contract role you will need to either be immediately available or with a 1 week notice period as we are requiring a June 2025 start date. Salary on offer is £30-35k per annum (full time equivalent) with working hours of 35 per week, Monday to Friday 09.00-17.00. Hybrid working is also available with 2 days per week WFH.

The Role:

  • Support the Procurement team with new procurement initiatives, including RFx processes.
  • Act as the super user for all procurement systems and processes.
  • Undertake reporting and analysis, for both regular and ad hoc reporting requirements. Collate KPI reporting information and assist in the preparation of reports.
  • Delivering tenders, in accordance with relevant policies, ensuring value for money and appropriate due diligence has been undertaken, to mitigate risk.
  • Deliver the supplier onboarding processes, including appropriate due diligence, ensuring that suppliers meet the minimum standards before proceeding and can then be utilised where required.
  • Provide administrative support in the segmentation of suppliers, and in accordance with the supplier management framework to ensure appropriate supplier and contract management is being undertaken.
  • Act as the point of contact for the business in relation to suppliers, and for suppliers in relation to business requirements.
  • Undertaking appropriate spend analysis to understand potential opportunities, and to develop category strategies to support these opportunities, harnessing economies of scale within our supplier base.
  • Reviewing and monitoring KPIs and SLAs to ensure continuous high performance. Initiating performance monitoring/improvement plans if required.
  • Delivering improved supply chain performance, focused on business continuity, customer service and ESG.

Person Requirements:

  • An understanding of procurement processes and strategy.
  • Procurement and or Supply Chain experience.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and administrative skills with a methodical approach to work.
  • An understanding of supplier due diligence and the ability to assess suppliers against core criteria.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and particularly Power BI.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work across a range of tasks.
  • A strong team player who is self-motivated, uses own initiative and works well under pressure.
