We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Branch Support Team in a senior, influential position within our growing national business. This hybrid role allows you to work mainly from home while providing technical support, training and development across our UK-wide franchise network. This is a varied, hands-on, and highly collaborative role.
You will be providing remote and on-site support for maintenance, installation, commissioning, auditing and training activities, helping to raise engineering capability and ensure consistent technical standards across all branches. You will also play a key role in onboarding new franchises, helping them establish strong operational practices from day one. Travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.
Please note: Experience in commissioning fire and security systems is essential.

The Role:
Technical Support & Development
- Act as the primary technical support contact for all franchise branches, resolving technical queries via phone, email, Teams or on-site visits.
- Provide expert troubleshooting for fire alarm, intruder alarm, CCTV and access control systems.
- Support branches with complex commissioning, fault-finding, installation queries and system integration.
- Assist with designs, specifications, quotations and site surveys when required.
- Deliver structured training sessions, toolbox talks and development pathways for engineers and apprentices.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant British Standards, legislation, and industry best practice.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, guidance notes, and standardised procedures.
- Support internal technical compliance audits and help branches prepare for external audits.
Branch Support & Growth
- Provide structured mentoring to new franchise branches, including joint site visits, guided surveys and opportunity identification, installation and maintenance best practice, and client meetings to support relationship-building.
- Help prepare professional costings, quotations and proposals (using Uptick).
- Feed back insights from branch visits to senior management to drive continuous improvement.
- Support branches in building technical credibility with clients, ensuring consistent service quality.
- Work collaboratively with Head Office teams (Operations, Compliance, Training and Franchise Development).
The Person (Ideal Candidate):
Essential Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with fire alarm and security system installation, servicing and commissioning (Typical systems: addressable fire alarms, conventional alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control).
- Demonstrable experience working at senior engineer, lead engineer or technical support level.
- Good working knowledge of relevant standards: BS5839, BS5266, BS EN54, NSI/NACOSS requirements.
- Competence with system design, survey work, quotations and documentation.
Desirable Experience
- Multi-brand experience (e.g., Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Siemens, Texecom, Galaxy, Paxton, Avigilon, Hikvision etc.).
- Experience mentoring younger engineers or delivering technical training.
- Experience within a franchise or multi-site engineering environment.
- Previous involvement with technical auditing, compliance or quality assurance.
Skills & Attributes
- A natural problem-solver with a calm, supportive approach.
- Excellent communicator - able to translate technical detail into clear guidance.
- Strong documentation and organisational skills.
- Confident in front of customers and comfortable providing leadership to engineers.
- Able to travel nationally with overnight stays when required.
- Full UK driving licence.
