Our services include fire alarms, extinguishers, CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, emergency lighting, and more.
As we expand into the South West, we\’re offering experienced engineers the chance to shape our future in the region.
The Role:
As our Fire and Security Systems Engineer, no two days will look the same. One day you might be servicing fire extinguishers or a fire panel, and the next, carrying out a full takeover of a new customer site. You\’ll manage your own diary, booking work directly with customers and enjoying real flexibility to balance work and home life. This role is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional flexibility required and on call. You\’ll cover Swindon (SN postcode area), with occasional nearby travel for national accounts. You\’ll take your van home daily and work independently, supported by the Branch Director, the wider Jackson network and Head Office Support Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and maintain fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, and fire doors.
- Install, service, and maintain intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Carry out full service takeovers for new customers, testing and recording all systems.
- Work with autonomy to plan and manage your own diary, booking work directly with customers.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service, building trust and long-term relationships.
- Ensure all work is carried out to NSI Gold standards and in line with compliance requirements.
- Complete documentation and reports accurately using the company tablet and software systems.
- Participate in an on-call rota (shared with the Branch Director) and attend occasional call-outs.
- Support the growth of the business by maintaining professionalism and representing the Jackson brand.
What We\’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in fire and/or security systems engineering (installation, servicing, maintenance).
- Knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, or emergency lighting.
- Excellent customer service skills – building trust is paramount.
- Ability to work independently, manage your time, and complete jobs thoroughly.
- Full UK driving licence
- Based in the SN postcode area (Swindon) or nearby.
