The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Southern Region, working on a large critical infrastructure scheme near Eastbourne, East Sussex. The programme is about 18 months long, commencing in early 2026, and involves highways and bridge construction works.

Responsibilities

  • Support and mentor junior staff.
  • Maximise profitability on contracts.
  • Monitor contract costs against budgets.
  • Identify potential risks and evaluate control options.
  • Prepare estimates.
  • Procure sub‑contractors, including preparation of subcontract documents.
  • Assess and certify interim and final payments to subcontractors.
  • Prepare and agree on main contract variations.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for dispute resolution (adjudications, arbitrations, etc.).
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and company procedures.

Must‑Haves

  • Ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach.
  • Demonstrated innovative problem‑solving and negotiation across all levels of a construction environment.
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role.
  • Experience working on civil engineering schemes with a main contractor.
  • Experience as a SQS working with the NEC form of contract.

Due to this being a regional based role, the successful candidate must be able to travel and hold a full UK driving licence.
