The main purpose of this role is to deal with the preparation, processing and submission of tenders for contracts by calculating the costs involved in supplying a product or service that meets the client\âs technical specification.A full UK driving licence is essential as there may be some travel to Huntingdon, Peterborough, or similar. There will be the occasional need to attend meetings and reviews at head office in Ipswich. This role will report directly to the PreâContracts Director who is based at Head office in Ipswich.Other Main Duties Include Manage and co-ordinate information for bids and tenders within designated areaResearching materials, equipment and labour costsGain and understanding of what the client\âs needs areCollecting quotes from suppliers and sub-contractorsPlanning job timescalesAssessing and advising on commercial riskPreparing and submitting quotations for workHelping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activitiesMonitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecastsClearly convey the financial elements of a tender to site staff at tender handoverEnsure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company proceduresInvolvement in review/ input to quality submissionsAre you the person we are looking for?Qualifications & Skills We are seeking a selfâmotivated individual with excellent communication and presentation skills, who has good commercial awareness and problemâsolving skills. Must also have strong numerical and analytical skills and be able to pay close attention to detail.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating in civil engineering, with experience of projects of a similar nature which include highways, earthworks, and infrastructure.
