The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for ensuring that project programmes are current, consistent and accurate by regular interface with the project site management and relevant Regional management team.
Main duties for the Regional Planner will include:
- At least monthly, forensically review each project programme, ensuring change is being captured and appropriately recorded.
- Proficient use of planning software, preferably Microsoft Project and or ASTA.
- Ensure that programmes are regularly updated to meet contractual requirements, As Built Records, and progress. Review two-weekly look-ahead programmes.
- Review site records including contractual notices and communication in relation to programme matters. Ensure programme submission and acceptance is contractually compliant.
- Review Project Change register in parallel with the works delivered and the contract.
- Review the Project Risk & Opportunities Register.
- Review / facilitate entitlement not previously captured by the site team.
- Assist the site team to contractually protect programme entitlement and facilitate EOT claims.
- Provide advice and assistance on planning, programming, methods of construction and solutions to engineering problems.
- Support the Regional Manager/Director in the strategic development of processes and systems as required.
- When required provide direction and planning support to the pre-contract tender team, finding solutions to engineering problems and planning bid winning methods of construction, programming and bid writing.
- Mentoring team members wishing to progress.
This role requires proven site delivery experience. We are not considering candidates without hands-on experience working within live site environments.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an experienced user of Microsoft Project (essential).
- Have a solid working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts.
- Have practical site experience planning and managing civil engineering projects, particularly within environmental, water, or flood management works.
- Be a confident communicator, able to work closely with site teams and management.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have the right to work in the UK.
