Career Opportunity: Project Manager To strengthen our Highways Division, we are recruiting for a Project Manager. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager in our Highways Division working on Highways schemes including a wide range of works from bearing replacements, expansion joint renewal, parapet works, concrete repairs, phased replacement of tunnel panels and fixings, refurbishment of corbel/drainage channel detail, repairs & corrosion protection to arched beams, refurbishment of rendered facias, phased patch painting/overcoating to steel surfaces on bridges Ideally you will be located around the Dartford/ M11 area. This role will be based from the Dartford or M11 office during the day with the work predominantly planned at night all over the network. Due to the nature of the role there will be an expectation for some ad hoc visits to site at night. Main Duties: * Management of site staff, operatives and sub-contractors. * Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and Project Management plans. * Understand tender allowances and monitor contract loss against agreed budgets. * Preparing and monitoring programmes of work. * Foster good relations and reputation with clients. * Manage design co-ordination. * Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors. * Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts. * Supervise, mentor and assist in the career development of junior staff. Are you the person we are looking for? The successful candidate will need to have experience working for a main contractor on projects which should include highways. We’re after a team player who has excellent communication and people skills who have the ability to manage change. Already experienced as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will have a relevant industry qualification (HND/ HNC/ BEng) or equivalent, be a Temporary Works Coordinator and possess an up-to-date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS card. A First Aid at work qualification is desirable. Knowledge of NEC contracts and incorporated Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) membership would also be an advantage.
