Due to increased workload we are recruiting an experienced Senior Engineer for our Highways Division. This is a permanent role that may require working nights (8 pm to 6 am) and weekends. The main purpose of the role is to progress the construction process and assist in delivering the project.
Responsibilities
- Undertake day‐to‐day setting‐out duties without supervision.
- Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers.
- Manage and monitor all site sample/performance testing requirements and maintain records in line with the contract specification.
- Complete hazard, risk assessments and method statements.
- Manage site service plans and drawings, issuing permits accordingly.
- Assist the site QS/Project Manager with providing relevant information for records and claims.
- Monitor and control temporary works.
- Develop and maintain relations with client, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and company procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
We seek an ambitious, proactive, self‐directed engineer who can set out accurately, organise and prioritise their workload.
Desired experience and skills:
- Programming and planning upcoming works; completing RAMs, ITPs, RFIs and QA paperwork.
- Proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD and MS Project.
- Previous Highways experience.
- Experience in heavy civils with a main contractor.
- CSCS card and suitable civil engineering qualification (minimum HND).
- ICE membership, SMSTS and SSSTS certificates.
- First Aid at work qualification (desirable).
- Degree in Civil Engineering (desirable).
- Training in confined spaces (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence; willingness to travel across the Highways Division.
