We are seeking an experienced and dedicated MEICA Coordinator to provide effective technical oversight, coordination and delivery support for a pumping-station refit programme in South Gloucestershire. Working across the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation disciplines, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the works are safely, efficiently and effectively coordinated, delivered to the required technical standards, and aligned with programme objectives.
Main Duties:
- Development of works scope and sequencing considerations, supporting the development of scheme costs to establish project deliverables for client’s approval and subsequent delivery by Jackson’s operational delivery teams.
- Involved in scoping and delivering Asset investigation / survey works and reporting, to establish the scope of works that may be required, working closely with our supply chain, the client and consultants as well as the procurement and management of those services on the ground.
- Produce regular reports on the status of the projects and attend key project, design, and construction team meetings across the projects.
- Collaborate with other Jackson’s key functions, client, designers, community, stakeholders, and public relations managers to ensure the portfolio projects are achieved.
- Assist JCE quantity surveyors in tender bids for the MEICA element of tender bids.
Are you the person we are looking for?
The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems, with particular experience in pumping stations or similar water/wastewater infrastructure. They will be capable of reviewing technical drawings, specifications and contractor submissions; coordinating multidisciplinary MEICA activities; identifying technical interfaces and risks; monitoring installation quality; and overseeing testing, commissioning, and handover.
The candidate should have a sound understanding of pumps, valves, pipework, motors, MCCs, control panels, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, telemetry, and associated control systems. They should be able to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, control philosophies and instrumentation documentation, and have sufficient technical knowledge to challenge contractors and ensure that works comply with the approved design, specification, and relevant standards. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential, together with the ability to understand how mechanical, electrical and control systems interact as an integrated pumping-station system.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in MEICA engineering, preferably within the water/wastewater sector, with demonstrable experience of pumping-station installation, refurbishment, testing and commissioning.
- Demonstrable experience of coordinating and overseeing MEICA contractors and subcontractors, managing technical interfaces between mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems, monitoring programme and quality, and supporting successful commissioning and handover.
- Full UK driving licence.
