To strengthen our Highways Division team, we are recruiting for a Section Engineer.

Ideally you will be located close to Guilford area and be willing to cover the National Highways Area which could include Hampshire and Oxford.
This role will be working both days and nights.
Main Duties for a Section Engineer
- Liaise with site management to complete quality take offs.
- Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities / issues with the project.
- Develop knowledge and ability in completing hazard / risk assessments and method statements, including alerting relevant personnel to control measures and work methods therein.
- Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
- Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers.
- Manage sectional setting out requirements on site.
- Manage the sectional service plans/ drawings. Issue permits accordingly.
- Assist the QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes.
- Manage the as built requirements of your section and contribute to the completion of the site health and safety file.
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.
Are you the person we are looking for?
The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of ITPs and quality assurance process and working with specification documents.
You should have good leadership skills and understanding of construction practices and be able to work independently.
Already working as a Section Engineer or looking for that next step after a Site Engineer, you will have experience of working on infrastructure projects preferably with Highways with a main contractor.
Must also have a CSCS card in the appropriate discipline and ideally educated with a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
You will have a SSTS card, First Aid and NRWSA and Cat and Genny.
Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel across the region.
