To strengthen our Highways Division team, we are recruiting for a Site Engineer. Here at Jackson we are dynamic, innovative and focused, supported by an inclusive and fun company culture. Responsibilities:
- Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and undertaking traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs.
- Read and review construction drawings.
- Undertake basic take‑offs.
- Raise technical queries with designers and other members of the client team.
- Have a good commercial understanding and know the difference between cost and value.
- Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
This role may involve working both days and nights and requires willingness to cover the National Highways area, including Hampshire and Oxford.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years setting out experience on infrastructure projects, preferably with a major contractor.
- CSCS card in the appropriate discipline.
- SSTS card, First Aid training, NRWSA, CAT and Genny qualifications.
- A UK full driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
- Ideally a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Good understanding of ITPs, quality assurance processes and specification documents.
- Strong leadership skills, construction knowledge and the ability to work independently.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
