We are now on the lookout for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our Senior Quantity Surveyors in our Northern Region. This role will initially be working in Barton on a link road scheme.

Main Duties
  • Provide general assistance to Senior Quantity Surveyors
  • Assist with preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • On‐site measurement and measurement of drawings as required
  • Assist with identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
  • On‐going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
  • Feasibility studies of clients requests
  • Assist with preparation of estimates
  • Assist with analysing sub‐contractors quotations
  • Assist with preparation and agreeing variation accounts
  • Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub‐contractors
  • Assist with providing evidence for resolution of disputes
Qualifications
  • Highly organised, commercially aware and confident when it comes to negotiation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems rather than escalates them
  • Comfortable negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders across a live construction environment
  • Numerate and detail‐focused, able to manage the financial demands of active contracts with confidence
  • Previous experience working for a main contractor within a civil engineering environment, supporting the commercial function on live projects
  • Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • This is a regional role, so you’ll need to be happy travelling to sites and meetings and hold a full UK driving licence.
