We are now on the lookout for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our Senior Quantity Surveyors in our Northern Region. This role will initially be working in Barton on a link road scheme.
Main Duties- Provide general assistance to Senior Quantity Surveyors
- Assist with preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
- Onâsite measurement and measurement of drawings as required
- Assist with identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
- Onâgoing cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
- Feasibility studies of clients requests
- Assist with preparation of estimates
- Assist with analysing subâcontractors quotations
- Assist with preparation and agreeing variation accounts
- Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to subâcontractors
- Assist with providing evidence for resolution of disputes
- Highly organised, commercially aware and confident when it comes to negotiation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems rather than escalates them
- Comfortable negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders across a live construction environment
- Numerate and detailâfocused, able to manage the financial demands of active contracts with confidence
- Previous experience working for a main contractor within a civil engineering environment, supporting the commercial function on live projects
- Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- This is a regional role, so youâll need to be happy travelling to sites and meetings and hold a full UK driving licence.
