We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major multi-year infrastructure refurbishment and renewal programme valued at approximately £30m. The role will involve commercial management across a portfolio of civil and structural works being delivered across multiple sites within the region including Lincolnshire, Northants East Anglia with the role being part office based in Tamworth with site visits when required. This is a long-term programme offering involvement from early project phases through to completion, working alongside operational and delivery teams on complex refurbishment and upgrade works within a regulated infrastructure environment.

Main Duties of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental objectives
  • Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation
  • On-site measurement and measurement of drawings as required
  • Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
  • On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
  • Feasibility studies of clients requests
  • Preparation of estimates
  • Analysing sub-contractors quotations
  • Preparation and agreeing variation accounts
  • Preparation and agreeing of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub-contractors
  • Providing evidence for resolution of disputes
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure

Are you the person we are looking for? The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years experience within the civil engineering sector and will report directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects ranging from £100k to £500k, working closely with site teams to manage budgets, change control and subcontractor performance.
