We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major multi-year infrastructure refurbishment and renewal programme valued at approximately £30m. The role will involve commercial management across a portfolio of civil and structural works being delivered across multiple sites within the region including Lincolnshire, Northants East Anglia with the role being part office based in Tamworth with site visits when required. This is a long-term programme offering involvement from early project phases through to completion, working alongside operational and delivery teams on complex refurbishment and upgrade works within a regulated infrastructure environment.

Main Duties:
  • Support and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Maximise profitability on contracts.
  • Monitoring contract costs against budgets.
  • Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control.
  • Preparation of estimates.
  • Procurement of sub-contractors, including preparation of subcontract documents.
  • Assessment and certification of interim and final payments to subcontractors.
  • Preparation and agreeing main contract variations.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for resolution of disputes (adjudications / arbitrations and the like).
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure.
Must haves:

We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in the commercial management of multiple concurrent schemes, ideally within a civil engineering or infrastructure environment. Previous design and build experience is desirable, alongside a strong working knowledge of NEC4 Option C contracts. This is a client-facing role, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.

Key Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge and compensation event management experience.
  • Commercial reporting and subcontractor account management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and within a wider team.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Experience supporting junior team members is desirable.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
