Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator in Leighton Buzzard

We are recruiting for a 'Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator' to join a Leighton Buzzard based business. Our client are one of the local market leaders within their sector, and are recruiting due to continued growth, offering great development potential.

Location: Leighton Buzzard - fully office based.

Working Hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Contract Type: Perm.

Start Date: ASAP, following interviews.

Overview:

• Candidates will ideally have three years minimum bookkeeping experience. Previous experience using Xero and Sage software is required. Payroll experience would also be preferable, however, training can be provided. The role would include working and communicating with multiple clients and HMRC on a regular basis. Attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines with high quality output is a must.

Duties would include but not limited to:

• Creation/data entry of sales and purchases invoices.
• Reconciliation of bank statements and control accounts.
• Preparation of Profit and Loss/Balance Sheet reports, VAT Returns and trial balance for Management Accounts.
• Monthly journal entries to include wages, prepayments and accruals.
• Running of monthly payroll’s to include pension uploads.
• Ad-hoc admin as required.

Required Skills:

• Working knowledge and experience in using Xero and Sage software - essential.
• Background within Bookkeeping - ideally, minimum of 3-years experience.
• Knowledge of running payroll - preferred, not essential.
• Client focused, and experience in customer service.
