QMS Engineer Worcester, Worcestershire £50,000 - £60,000 Per Annum + Excellent Benefits! We at JKR are supporting a growing manufacturer and distributor of specialist construction products, with a strong international presence and a focus on innovation! We are recruiting for an experienced QMS Engineer, who will develop, maintain and improve the company’s Quality Management System. Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will ensure policies, processes and procedures support consistent product quality and meet customer and regulatory requirements. The QMS Engineer Role: * Develop, maintain and improve the company’s QMS, supporting customer requirements and regulatory compliance * Create and update process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality manuals in line with global construction industry regulatory frameworks * Lead internal audits and host external certification bodies, ensuring teams follow documented processes * Investigate system failures and non-conformances using root-cause analysis tools such as 8D, Fishbone and 5 Whys * Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), implementing lasting fixes and checking their effectiveness * Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to reduce operational waste, prevent defects and improve quality processes * Train employees across departments on QMS policies, compliance requirements and quality best practices * Monitor CAPA closure times and rates, recurring non-conformances, layered process audit (LPA) adherence, right-first-time (RFT) performance and non-conformance report (NCR) rates * Work across departments and with internal and external stakeholders to support consistent processes and continuous improvement * Comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies QMS Engineer Ideal Candidate: * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical discipline * 3–5+ years’ experience within quality assurance, manufacturing or engineering * Strong familiarity with quality frameworks including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100 and IATF 16949 * Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and practical experience using root-cause analysis tools such as 8D, Fishbone and 5 Whys * Knowledge of quality and business systems, measurement methods, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes * Clear technical writing, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective planning and the ability to present data clearly * Able to work independently and as part of a team, with an understanding of the cost and financial impacts of quality decisions QMS Engineer Working Hours & Benefits: * Full time, 8:00am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, with scope for flexibility * 23 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays, with your birthday as a paid day off * Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme and Private Medical Insurance * Growth By Sharing quarterly bonus scheme * Christmas shutdown * Professional development opportunities and potential for career progression * Cycle to Work Scheme and Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme * Eye Care Voucher Scheme * Employee wellbeing initiatives and mental health support * Recognition awards * Breakfast and refreshments provided, modern open-plan working environment and on-site parking Jackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 28 years.
