Our client, based in Rotherham, is seeking a skilled Pump Fitter / Repair Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a respected company in a supportive and well-equipped workshop environment.
Pump Fitter / Repair Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
- Strip down, inspect, and rebuild a wide range of pumps, including centrifugal, submersible, multistage, positive displacement, progressive cavity, and turbine types
- Assess component wear, determine repair requirements, and identify necessary replacement parts
- Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, verniers, and dial test indicators, to work to exact tolerances
- Replace bearings, seals, impellers, and shafts in line with specifications
- Complete detailed job cards, inspection sheets, and repair reports accurately
- Perform laser alignment and assist with on-site installation and rebuild projects as required
- Maintain a safe working environment and high standards of workmanship and workshop cleanliness
Pump Fitter / Repair Engineer Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Pump Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or in rotating equipment repair, with hands-on experience across a variety of pump types
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools and comfortable working to tight tolerances
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and pump operation
- Able to read engineering drawings and follow repair procedures accurately
- Knowledge of basic electrical testing on motors is advantageous
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality work
- Applicants must be UK-based and have the legal right to work in the UK
Pump Fitter / Repair Engineer Working Hours and Benefits:
- Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 16:30
- Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
- 39.5 hours a week
- Overtime paid at 1.5x rate
