Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Hungerford, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on manufacturing professional to lead a skilled production team, drive operational improvements, and play a key role in achieving high standards across safety, quality, cost and delivery.
Production Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Production Technicians, providing day-to-day support, guidance and performance management
- Promote and maintain a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements
- Drive production performance to achieve cost, quality and delivery targets
- Ensure products are manufactured in line with customer specifications and internal quality standards
- Maintain compliance with ISO9001 and relevant quality procedures
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with engineering teams during the product design process to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture
- Support the development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies, processes and improvements
- Provide hands-on support within production when required, offering additional resource and training guidance
- Manage production timesheets, resource planning and departmental requirements
- Develop and maintain training records, competency matrices and employee development plans
- Complete production documentation and reports to demonstrate compliance with Health & Safety, quality and customer requirements
- Produce management reports and support month-end reporting activities as required
Production Manager Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a Production Manager or Manufacturing Manager position
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing production teams
- A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
- Experience working within an ISO9001 manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
Production Manager Working Hours:
- Monday – Thursday, 07:30 – 16:00
- Friday, 07:30 – 13:00
- 40 hours a week
