Our client, a global electronics manufacturing company, are recruiting for an enthusiastic and skilled CNC Machinist to join their team. CNC Machinist Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Setting/operating and turning of materials on the CNC machines
  • Changing over and setting machines in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Work to achieve set production times and targets
  • Carry out quality checks on own work using various imperial measuring equipment and gauges
  • Follow operation sheets to ensure parts are progressed through the factory on time and in the correct pathway (SOP)
  • Complete our on-line safety training, take care of your own health and safety on site and contribute towards a safe working environment for your team members
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area in accordance with 5S or site housekeeping standards
  • Ensure machines, tooling, and work areas are kept in good condition and report any defects or concerns promptly

The ideal CNC Machinist will:

  • Background in an electro/mechanical manufacturing environment with experience of Defence/Military & Civil Aerospace products
  • Ability to read and understand a variety of drawings in both imperial and metric
  • Experience in the use of a variety of measuring devices essential (including Vernier callipers, micrometers, height gauges, internal and external thread gauges, wire gauges etc)
  • Good communication skills
  • Work collaboratively with others in the workshop
  • Willing to undertake specific training to support the duties and responsibilities detailed above
  • Capable of working with minimum supervision
  • Self-motivating with a flexible work ethic
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • GCSE level 4 or above in Maths and English
