Electrical & Process Control Technician Bathford Up to £42,000 + Annual call out fee of £4,000 Our client is recruiting for a great opportunity to work within a highly technical environment, working with customers across the world manufacturing unique products. Electrical & Process Control Technician Role and Responsibilities: * To carry out planned preventative, remedial, and reactive maintenance of all electrical, instrumentation and process control equipment * Applying effective fault finding and investigation techniques to resolve issues in a timely manner, to ensure maximum utilisation of machinery, and the minimisation of manufacturing losses * To undertake hardware and software updates, diagnostics, and maintenance to the site wide Rockwell Factory Talk platform, including Allen Bradley PLC and Rockwell SCADA. * To carry out installation upgrades to electrical and process control equipment, as well as modifications and updates to existing equipment, to improve system performance, effectiveness, and functionality * To diagnose process and engineering related plant conditions, and work alongside shift personnel when necessary to resolve more complex engineering issues * Work within the engineering team and seek to improve methods, productivity, and efficiency, making recommendations for capital expenditure and long-term development * Support of the Project Team, as and when required, with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and CAPEX projects * Ensure comprehensive work history is recorded in the Site’s CMMS system and any follow up work required is identified * Ensure the appropriate housekeeping, risk assessments, cleanliness and 5S standards for the department are maintained * Ensure full participation in the performance development review (PDR) process and maintain an up-to-date record of all training and development activities/programs * To always act and behave in a way compliant with all Portals company guidelines and policies, including those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, ethics, and codes of conduct * To supervise and direct contractors in both maintenance and project capacities. * Be a member of the engineering on-call team, supporting the shift engineers and site out of hours The ideal Electrical & Process Control Technician will: * BTEC ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or Electronics, or equivalent qualification and relevant certification and working knowledge of Engineering regulations, e.g. BS7671:2018 * Electrical/Instrumentation apprenticeship or equivalent to include electrical qualification to at least C&G/NVQ standard, alongside a formal engineering background * Demonstratable competence on Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLC and SCADA * Excellent understanding of fault finding and diagnostics on process control field related equipment, demonstrated through previous work experience * Process or manufacturing experience in a continuous production environment * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * AC and DC variable speed drive experience * Competent with Microsoft Office 365, whilst further IT experience would be advantageous Electrical & Process Control Technician Working Hours and Benefits: * 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 15:00 Fridays * Annual Call out fee of £4,000 * 34 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays * Pension scheme which offers an employer contribution of up to 9% of salary, Life assurance of four times your basic salary, Sick pay scheme * 24/7 Employee assistance programme, Lifeworks with access to counselling, financial and legal advice, several additional perks with discount codes for stores, gyms and experiences * Training and development costs associated to role paid for * Cycle to work scheme, £500 Refer a friend scheme, Long service awards, Recognition platform, give as you earn scheme * Eye care for Display Screen Equipment users, Digital GP through Doctor Care Anywhere * Phone discounts through EE, Costco membership, Love2Shop shopping discount card Jackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 27 years.
