An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Electronics Test Technician to join our client’s team in Devizes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on electronic and electromechanical assemblies to component level, often without full circuit diagrams or technical documentation.
- Perform detailed repairs on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies, restoring units to full operational condition.
- Confidently use soldering and rework equipment, working with both surface-mount and through-hole technologies.
- Read and interpret circuit diagrams where available; where documentation is limited, analyse circuitry directly to determine function and faults.
- Operate standard electronic test equipment competently, and adapt to additional or unfamiliar equipment as required.
- Manage multiple repair tasks efficiently, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
- Conduct thorough testing of repaired units to ensure reliability and performance standards are met.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of diagnostics, repairs carried out, and components used.
Ideal Candidate:
- A relevant electronics qualification is advantageous; however, proven hands-on experience in component-level fault finding and repair is more important.
- Strong understanding of electronic components and circuit operation.
- Demonstrable experience diagnosing faults at component level.
- Able to work independently, using initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Working Hours:
- Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (37.5 hours per week).
- Company pension.
- Free onsite parking.
