We are looking for a Project Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Swindon. This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who enjoys the project and customer-facing side of engineering. You will take the lead on projects, working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure projects run smoothly from initial enquiry through to completion.
Project Mechanical Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
- Leading mechanical engineering projects from initial enquiry through to completion
- Acting as a key point of contact for customers throughout projects
- Discussing customer requirements and helping develop suitable engineering solutions
- Working closely with internal engineering, design and manufacturing teams
- Managing project timescales, progress and priorities
- Supporting quotations and the sales process from a technical perspective
- Building strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to customer requirements
- Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle
Project Mechanical Engineer Ideal Candidate:
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- Experience leading or coordinating engineering projects
- Comfortable speaking with customers and building relationships
- Commercially aware, with an interest in the sales side of engineering
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Able to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
