Our client, a leading aerospace component repair specialist, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join their Cargo Bay team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on individual to develop their career within a growing aviation engineering environment.

Mechanical Technician Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect components and identify repair and replacement requirements
  • Disassemble, clean and prepare aircraft cargo nets, webbing and seat restraint systems for maintenance
  • Carry out repairs and replace worn or damaged parts in accordance with approved procedures
  • Reassemble components to required quality, safety and performance standards within agreed timescales
  • Interpret and follow technical manuals, drawings and maintenance publications
  • Accurately record all maintenance activities in compliance with Part 145 regulatory requirements
  • Follow company procedures, quality standards and workshop best practices
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all health and safety requirements
  • Ensure work areas remain organised, clean and compliant with housekeeping standards
  • Complete all documentation and system updates accurately and efficiently

Mechanical Technician Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Technician or within a similar engineering environment
  • Experience in trimming, upholstery or textile repairs within the aviation, automotive or manufacturing sectors (desirable)
  • An understanding of technical documentation and engineering procedures
  • Knowledge of commercial aerospace maintenance practices (advantageous)
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A willingness to learn industry‑specific software systems, including Aerotrac
  • Strong attention to detail, self‑motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A recognised engineering qualification such as BTEC, ONC, HNC, HND or equivalent would be beneficial but is not essential

Mechanical Technician Working Hours and Benefits:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
