Our client that designs, builds and services highly engineered products within fluid and motion control applications are currently recruiting for an experienced and competent Quality Control Team Leader to join their growing and experienced team!
Quality Control Team Leader Roles and Responsibilities
- Daily management of the Quality Control Inspection Team and department, roughly 5 direct reports.
- Raise sourcing concerns to the Lead Process Quality Engineer and make appropriate suggestions to resolve issues with internal processes.
- Take responsibility for the recruitment of personnel ensuring best practice and company policies are adhered to.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation, proposing actionable improvement initiatives, and driving successful implementation to enhance overall product and quality operational efficiency.
- Co-ordinate the work of the QC Team, setting targets, deadlines and objectives for each team member ensuring targets are met.
- Ensure all team members are competent to undertake designated roles and monitor performance; identify training needs and ensure that appropriate learning takes place.
- Ensure all training is maintained to achieve a flexible workforce able to cover absences and changes in business needs.
- Undertake appraisals and performance reviews as and when required, highlighting training and development needs.
- Authorise holidays and other types of absences, being mindful of company policy ensuring that staffing levels are maintained.
- Responsible for full and comprehensive induction of all new personnel before they commence work, completing probationary reviews in accordance with company policy.
- Manage staff relations, including return to work interviews, ensuring they are conducted within 24 hours of staff return, raising concerns to line managers and HR Manager.
- Quality control representative at daily business planning meetings and ensure close liaison with the planning department.
- Maintain QC staff NDE qualifications in accordance with QA requirements SNT-TC-1A Level 2.
- Maintain NDE staff qualifications in accordance with QE requirements PCN Level 2.
- General COSHH and Risk Assessment Management.
- Utilise inspection measurement techniques, including hands-on inspection tools, CMM and other inspection equipment.
Quality Control Team Leader Ideal Candidate
- Strong Team Leader experience, managing teams, people, KPI’s and employee relations.
- Knowledge of MSA, Process Capability and SPC.
- Hands-on Mechanical Quality Inspection experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015.
- Strong manufacturing background.
- Experience working with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, ISHIKAWA, 5S.
- ISO9001 Internal Auditor Qualification and basic experience (Desirable).
Working Hours
08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 13:00 Friday.
