Our client, an innovative, industry-renowned and rapidly growing engineering and manufacturing business, are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to join a highly capable, diverse, and dynamic team, within an ISO9001 certified environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a good understanding of business engineering, manufacturing and product capabilities
  • Identifying and validating new customers
  • Identifying and validating new markets for the business
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers in the industry and in our customers
  • Representing the business at trade shows and events
  • Engaging with new customers
  • Exploring new opportunities with existing customers
  • Working with customers to identify the scope of work and deliverables
  • Preparation of customer quotations
  • Contract negotiations (supported by Commercial Director)
  • Managing CRM system to log customer details
  • Maintaining the sales funnel and other business development metrics to track opportunities
  • Occasional offsite travel within the UK, EU and worldwide

The ideal candidate

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) ideally in science, engineering, business or technology-related subjects
  • Experience in the niche vehicle, e-mobility, automotive, hypercar or hydrogen fuel cell industry
  • Proven background identifying winning business opportunities and closing contracts
  • Strong contract negotiation skills and capable of representing the business at a senior level
  • Ability to present reports to C-suite and board level stakeholders
  • IT proficient including CRM systems
  • Knowledge of using Sales Funnel reporting tools/processes
  • Previously worked within an SME supporting business growth
