Electronics Test Engineer

Location: Bedlington

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Our client, a global leader in their sector, is seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to join their test engineering team.

Electronics Test Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Support daily production activities and troubleshoot issues with automated test systems.
  2. Identify opportunities to improve current test systems.
  3. Analyze test failures.
  4. Participate in long-term team projects.
  5. Set up and maintain electrical measurement systems.
  6. Design and construct test hardware.
  7. Modify or generate test code to control instrumentation and perform automated testing.
  8. Develop an understanding of the production test machinery.
  9. Update and produce technical documentation such as circuit diagrams, test procedures, and operating instructions.
  10. Provide training and support to production operators.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Interest in software programming (e.g., Labview, CVI, Python, VB) is desirable.
  2. Experience with test instrumentation (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Digital Multimeters) is desirable.
  3. Practical electronics and fault diagnosis skills are desirable.
  4. Degree in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  5. Effective communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
  6. Organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
  7. Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  9. Proactive, hands-on approach.
  10. Proficiency with MS Office for documentation and reporting.

Working Hours and Benefits:

  1. Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
  2. Friday: 08:00 – 13:00
  3. 25 days annual leave plus a “special day” per year.
