Development Engineer (Fixed Term Contract)

Our client is the global leader in their sector! They are looking for a Development Engineer to join the team on a 12-month contract basis.
Development Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:
- Overall management of projects, providing ongoing engineering support to manufacturing throughout the products lift cycle
- Control of the introduction of new products and product life cycle management
- Assist in the manufacture of prototypes and validation and qualification samples
- Assistance with failure analysis and yield improvement in the early stages of production
- Liaison with other departments (Quality / Test / Production Engineering) in analysing customer returns and implementing corrective actions in the early stages of production
- Liaison with other departments (Quality / Procurement) and suppliers when problems occur with non-conforming materials in the early stages of production
- Raise and action engineering change requests where required throughout the product life cycle, including participation in material change review board meeting where required, including change to master data, BOMS, Routes and Drawings
- Visits to customers, suppliers or training venues will be necessary and may involve foreign travel
- Participate in team based continuous improvement initiatives and implement agreed action plans
Development Engineer Ideal Candidate:
- Degree/HNC in a relevant science or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Sound knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and statistical process techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Methodical process orientated approach
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate a flexible and can-do attitude.
- A good level of competence with MS Office applications for documentation and presenting reports
