Our client, a well‑established and reputable engineering company based in Bicester, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist to work within a modern manufacturing environment, contributing to the production of high‑quality precision components for a diverse customer base.

CNC Machinist Roles and Responsibilities

  • Program and set CNC milling machines to manufacture components in line with customer specifications
  • Ensure all produced parts meet engineering drawings and customer quality standards
  • Select the most effective machining methods and tooling to maximise efficiency
  • Work to planned production schedules to meet both company and customer deadlines

CNC Machinist Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience programming and operating Hurco vertical machining centres
  • Proficient in Visi CAD/CAM and/or Machining Strategist software
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or possess equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Experience programming and operating Fanuc‑controlled vertical machining centres (desirable)
  • Familiarity with setting and operating multi‑axis machining centres (desirable)
  • Experience using manual machine tools such as mills, lathes, and surface grinders (desirable)
  • Good general IT skills, including Microsoft Office

CNC Machinist Working Hours and Benefits

  • Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 17:00
  • Friday, 08:00 – 14:30
  • Overtime is paid at 1.5 x hourly rate
