Our long-standing client, leaders in their industry, are looking for a Service Delivery Engineer to join their ever-growing team!
Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for IT issues, following them through to ensure they are complete.
- Work within a virtual team to provide support to staff around the globe with IT issues, escalating where necessary to other teams.
- Responsible for any escalated calls and will ensure that these are resolved acceptably to both parties.
- Support local systems such as servers, storage, telecoms and networking as well as managing company phone systems and time clock systems.
- Ensure adequate backups are completed and monitor the availability of global systems through existing portals.
- Provide technical assistance and training to computer users on the application software, hardware and computer services and be responsible for IT hardware and software inventory.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers on software, hardware, telecommunication for leased line and telephone system to maintain proper relationship for better maintenance and support for local systems.
- Ability to internalise and advocate the customer’s position.
- Precise and have attention to detail, meeting commitments and delivering continual improvement within communicated and well managed budgetary restrictions.
- Once up to date, join or cross lead a Virtual Team.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of ITIL Service Management and process execution is a benefit.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems to Windows 10 client and Windows Server 2016.
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere infrastructure.
- Knowledge of HP server and storage technologies.
- Experience of working in a global multinational company.
- Knowledge of VOIP and PBX systems.
- Knowledge of Office 365 and its applications.
- Knowledge of Symantec Backup Exec version 14 to latest version.
- At least 3 years’ experience in IT.
