We at JKR are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our client’s growing team in Tewkesbury!
The Health and Safety Coordinator will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental systems across the site. This role will have a particular focus on COSHH and chemical safety, ensuring hazardous substances are appropriately assessed, controlled and managed within a manufacturing environment.
Health and Safety Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the site COSHH register
- Review and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Complete and review COSHH and general risk assessments
- Ensure the correct storage, segregation and labelling of chemicals
- Support the safe handling, transportation and disposal of hazardous substances
- Develop and support Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
- Carry out internal Health & Safety inspections and audits
- Monitor chemical storage and wet process areas
- Support external audits and regulatory inspections
- Track and close out audit actions
- Support employee inductions, refresher training and toolbox talks
- Promote hazard awareness and PPE compliance across the site
- Investigate incidents, chemical spills and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions
- Support environmental protection measures and continuous improvement initiatives
The Ideal Health and Safety Coordinator:
- Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of COSHH and chemical safety
- Experience working with hazardous substances
- Ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets
- Experience completing risk assessments and implementing appropriate control measures
- Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Knowledge of environmental compliance
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards would be advantageous
Health and Safety Coordinator Working Hours & Benefits:
- 08:30-17:00 Monday-Thursday 08:30-16:00 Fridays
