Our well-established client is looking for a Strategic Buyer to focus on supplier relationships and performance across all suppliers, while using company tools to monitor and improve supplier performance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Focus on developing supplier relationships and partnerships with key suppliers.
- Measure and endeavour to improve performance across all suppliers (with support from quality department).
- Agree long term solutions with suppliers such as contracts and LTAs (subject to Director approval) with a view to control or reduce overall supplier spend and risks.
- Providing long term forecast information to suppliers.
- Support the technical buyer as required (including placing purchase orders to cover absence).
- Working with the managing director to establish and renew contract or LTA terms with identified key suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance review meetings internally and at suppliers.
- Annually risk analyse all key suppliers and drive any improvement actions.
- Update approved supplier list (ASL) as required.
- Maintain NDAs with all suppliers.
- Work with supply chain to measure and reduce carbon emissions in scope 3.
- Contribute to company own carbon reduction program.
- Flow down of ethics and compliance to supply chain.
- Raise POs / RFQs to cover Technical Buyer absence.
- Adhere to the QMS of the business and maintain compliance to all customer quality requirements and AS9100.
