We're looking for a hands-on marketing generalist at the start of their career who's ready to get stuck in, learn the ropes, and fast-track their career. You’ll work alongside the campaign manager, brand and community manager and head of marketing, helping across digital campaigns, in-person events, social media and content creation. It's the perfect role for learning what marketing actually looks like inside a tech startup, with the freedom to progress into the area you enjoy most. Progression here is real and fast: we’re looking to grow the next line of marketing leaders from within the company, and we’d like you to be one of them.
What you'll do:
- Help where help is needed across digital, events and campaigns.
- Support the campaign manager on digital campaigns: building emails, landing pages and ads, and keeping campaigns running on schedule.
- Support our events programme: research, logistics, materials, and being hands‑on at the events themselves.
- Create content for our social channels and beyond, learning to write in the Cytix voice.
- Get to grips with our marketing tools and data, helping report on what’s working and what isn’t.
- Gradually take ownership of the areas where you show the most promise and interest.
What you'll bring:
- Some marketing experience: a first role, a placement, a degree, or things you’ve built and promoted yourself.
- Good writing and attention to detail.
- Organisation: you can juggle several small tasks without dropping any.
- Curiosity and a genuine appetite to learn, including about technical subjects like how software gets built and secured.
- Willingness to travel to events and muck in on the day.
What you'll get:
- Share options. If Cytix wins, you should too.
- Enhanced maternity pay.
- Octopus car scheme. Drive electric through salary sacrifice.
- Dog-friendly office. Bring them along.
- Inclusivity as standard. A team where you can do your best work as yourself, no asterisks.
About Cytix:
Software never stops changing. Teams ship new code every day, through tickets, pull requests, releases, and increasingly with AI in the mix, but the way security keeps up with all that change hasn’t really moved on. That’s the problem we’re solving. Cytix helps organisations understand which software changes actually matter, what should happen next, and how to prove the right call was made. Security understood, in other words. We’re a small team with big plans, so every person we hire genuinely shapes what Cytix becomes.
Our values:
- Make the first move: When the goal is clear but the path isn’t, you get moving rather than waiting for perfect instructions.
- Find the smarter path: You ask why before how. You dig into what the real problem is instead of just building what the spec says.
- See it through: When something’s yours, it lands. No loose ends, no surprises for whoever picks it up next.
- Raise the bar: You do the best job possible in the time you’ve got, whether that’s a day or a month.
- Play to win: You care about the mission but don’t take yourself too seriously.
Sound like you on a normal working day? We’d love to meet you.
Compensation: £30K – £35K
