Summary
Join Jack Richards and Son, a thriving £81 million turnover business that operates as a subsidiary of Turners of Soham Ltd, one of the UK’s leading haulage firms. We specialise in road haulage, contract logistics and palletised load distribution across the UK. We are looking for a professional Class 1 (C+E) Shunter Driver to work Monday to Friday days.

You must hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, hold a UK digital tachograph card and a full DQC (CPC card).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monday to Thursday (0500 to 1700)
- Friday (0500 to 1500)
- Note during busy months, typically Sep to Feb, hours are: Monday to Friday (0500 to 1700)
- Yard shunting using a unit
- Shunting between two sites
- Deliveries to either Markham or Snodland as required (including reloads)
- Local stock deliveries and collections from a local pallet yard
- Safely securing and strapping loads across different loading bays, reporting any issues to the shift team leader
- Ensuring curtains are closed and secured properly
- Escorting LGV drivers to and from the Driver Safe Zone
- Assisting with the unstrapping of paper deliveries
- Assisting with photographing completed loads once secured
- Reporting any issues with loads to team leaders and ensuring remedial action is taken
Estimated Annual Gross Earnings
Monday to Friday Shunter Driver: £44,223 – £45,838
The Above Includes Enhanced Rates after 10 hours. Also get paid 13 times a year (4 weekly).
