We’re looking for a Business Development Manager who will play a key role in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, with a particular focus on the exhibitions and tradeshow sector. This role is focused on identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities. You’ll play a key role across the full sales cycle – from initial prospecting and qualification through to leading capability presentations and responding to RFIs. Reporting to the New Business Development Director, this is a great opportunity for someone with 4 - 6 years’ industry experience who is ready to take the next step in a collaborative and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the wider team to identify, pursue and win new clients
- Support with the development of an annual new business plan for the market, including targeted campaigns and local marketing initiatives
- Work as a key member of the sales team in development of pursuit plans for target accounts, ensuring research results in intelligent contact with client prospects
- Generate new leads; identify and contact decision makers, screen potential business opportunities
- Track and report on performance through new business KPIs and dashboards, ensuring progress against sales goals
- Attend industry events, client meetings and networking opportunities to build relationships and drive growth
- Lead research into industry segments, companies and market trends to inform pursuit strategies
- Identify opportunities through trade publications and industry channels
- Work closely with the marketing team to align target prospects and campaigns
- Build strong internal relationships across the agency and global network
- Develop a deep understanding of the client’s goals and objectives and can lead the team to deliver these
- Understand clients' business and business issues and anticipate long-term
- Represent the agency externally with professionalism and credibility
- Partner with senior leaders across agency to champion cross collaboration
- Proactively suggests and delivers materials and topics for relevant content, whether for internal or external learning or selling
- Support integration of business development team with other disciplines
- Work closely with business development teams across EMEA, APAC and US
- Maintain CRM accuracy and forecasting
- Confidently represents the agency, effectively communicating and selling agency ideas and recommending solutions
- Develop solutions that leverage agency offerings and are mutually beneficial for the client and the agency
What We’re Looking For
- 4 - 6 years’ experience in business development, ideally within exhibitions, events or related industries
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- A proactive, self-starting approach with a commercial mindset
- Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels
- Strategic thinking combined with attention to detail
