We are seeking an experienced Event Manager (Life Sciences) to lead the planning and delivery of high-profile meetings, events, and brand experiences for pharmaceutical and Life Sciences clients across the UK and internationally. This role is responsible for end-to-end event delivery, supporting a range of programmes including healthcare professional (HCP) meetings, congress-related events, training programmes, conferences, and experiential activations. From initial planning and creative development through to on-site delivery and post-event evaluation, the Event Manager will ensure all programmes are executed seamlessly, compliantly, and in line with client objectives.
As part of the Client Delivery team, you will work closely with account management, creative, strategy, and production teams to deliver high-quality events that drive client engagement. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, oversee suppliers, control budgets, and represent the organisation and its clients with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the full lifecycle of meetings and events, including live, virtual, and hybrid formats.
- Deliver pharmaceutical and Life Sciences programmes such as advisory boards, congress activations, and HCP engagement events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to translate client briefs into engaging event experiences.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and project plans, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Source and manage venues, suppliers, and service providers, negotiating competitive rates and ensuring quality delivery.
- Oversee event logistics, including registration, delegate management, travel and accommodation, and on-site operations.
- Act as the lead on-site, ensuring smooth delivery and a high-quality attendee experience.
- Monitor and report on event performance, providing insights and recommendations for future improvements.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry regulations (e.g. ABPI Code of Practice where applicable).
- Support and mentor junior team members, freelancers, and external partners as needed.
- 6–8+ years’ experience delivering events, conferences, or complex programmes, ideally within an agency or client-facing environment.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical, healthcare, or Life Sciences clients.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and manage expectations.
- Experience managing budgets, suppliers, and tight deadlines.
- Experience delivering HCP engagement programmes, congresses, or medical meetings.
- Experience working across EMEA or global event programmes.
- Understanding of Life Sciences, healthcare, or B2B sectors.
- Knowledge of current trends in events, experiential marketing, and event technology.
- Professional certifications (e.g. CMP) are beneficial but not essential.
