We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/ Plant Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and assembling a variety of equipment and machinery.

Duties

  • Inspect, maintain and repair various plant machinery, vehicles and equipment
  • Assist in making necessary repairs, replacements and adjustments to equipment components
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is efficient working condition.
  • Perform basic maintenance related tasks including filter replacement, lubrication and minor repairs.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures when conducting repairs and maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Report any critical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor
  • Ensure detailed care, organisation and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Carry out Auto Electrics on vehicles and plant including trackers, new fit outs and general vehicle electrics.
  • Carry out pre-MOT inspections on vans and light commercial vehicles

Skills

  • NVQ Level 2 Qualified Auto Mechanic or equivalent
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with small plant machinery (mowers, rotavators, strimmers etc)
  • Full Driving Licence is essential
  • Experience working in a similar role is desired
  • Ability to diagnose faults and work independently
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration.
  • Enthusiasm and attention to detail to ensure all work is delivered in a manner without compromise on safety and quality.
