We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/ Plant Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and assembling a variety of equipment and machinery.
Duties
- Inspect, maintain and repair various plant machinery, vehicles and equipment
- Assist in making necessary repairs, replacements and adjustments to equipment components
- Conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is in efficient working condition.
- Perform basic maintenance related tasks including filter replacement, lubrication and minor repairs.
- Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures when conducting repairs and maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
- Report any critical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor
- Ensure detailed care, organisation and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Carry out Auto Electrics on vehicles and plant including trackers, new fit outs and general vehicle electrics.
- Carry out pre-MOT inspections on vans and light commercial vehicles
- Any other duties as required to meet business needs
Skills
- NVQ Level 2 Qualified Auto Mechanic or equivalent
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working with small plant machinery (mowers, rotavators, strimmers etc)
- Full Driving Licence is essential
- Experience working in a similar role is desired
- Ability to diagnose faults and work independently
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration.
- Enthusiasm and attention to detail to ensure all work is delivered in a manner without compromise on safety and quality.
