Company Description

Cash‑flow positive healthtech scale‑up with $24M+ ARR serving 20% of the UK population.

Location

London, UK

Job Description

Join a high‑growth scale‑up as the single most senior engineer accountable for the entire function. You will lead a team of 15+ elite former founders and ICs, pioneering an agent‑native "code dark factory" to ship software 24/7. This role reports directly to the CEO to scale world‑class engineering standards.

Why this role is remarkable

  • Lead a uniquely high‑talent density team where over 50% of engineers are former founders, operating with extreme autonomy and agency.
  • Influence the future of development by architecting a "code dark factory" where humans orchestrate AI agents to deliver integrated care platform solutions.
  • Exceptional compensation package with a base up to £300k and meaningful equity, in a company that is already cash‑flow positive and growing rapidly.

What You Will Do

  • Act as the single accountable operating leader for the global engineering function, directly reporting to the CEO and defining overall technical strategy.
  • Build a high‑performance hiring engine to scale the team to 25+ all‑stars while maintaining an elite talent bar and reducing regrettable churn.
  • Transform the engineering culture into an agent‑native environment, shifting the default development motion to human‑orchestrated, agent‑driven execution.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record as a VP Engineering or equivalent at a startup that experienced extraordinary growth and operated with unusually high talent density.
  • Former exceptional IC who still possesses the technical credibility to challenge and support elite engineers on complex architectural problems.
  • Experienced manager with at least 3–5 years in leadership, possessing the "management scar tissue" to navigate recruiting, performance management, and organisational scaling.
