Company Description: Carbon-sequestration synthetic fuel startup decarbonising heavy industry
Role and Responsibilities:
- Architect, ship, and scale embedded systems for the UK’s largest modular synthetic fuel plant.
- By vertically integrating hardware and software in-house, you will help drive large-scale deployment and efficiency improvements for DAC systems and electrolysers.
- Design and deploy scalable system architectures and mixed-signal PCBAs for industrial I/O and communications across thousands of machines.
- Develop and test firmware using embedded C/C++, RTOS, and Yocto-based embedded Linux for modular fuel plant components.
- Integrate end-products with factory acceptance rigs, fleet management systems, and automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust industrial deployment.
The Ideal Candidate / Qualifications:
- Expert in PCB design (Altium/KiCAD) and industrial communication protocols including Modbus (RTU/TCP), CAN bus, and OPC UA.
- Proficient in firmware development with C/C++, RTOS, and Embedded Linux (Yocto) for mission-critical industrial applications.
- Hands-on engineer experienced with functional safety standards (IEC 61508) and the hardware-software intersection of complex industrial machinery.
