Company Description: Early-stage AI gaming startup building real-time voice copilots.
Location: London, UK
Job Description: As the second engineer at this London-based startup, you will build a real-time AI copilot that watches gameplay and interacts via natural voice. You will solve complex challenges in computer vision, low-latency voice pipelines, and LLM orchestration to provide gamers with expert-level knowledge without ever needing to alt-tab.
Why this role is remarkable: Join as the second engineer working directly with the founding technical lead to define the core architecture of a category-defining AI product. Build at the bleeding edge of AI, integrating multi-modal models, real-time computer vision, and low-latency voice interaction for a highly engaged gaming audience. Influence every layer of the product and engineering culture in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where your decisions directly shape the company's trajectory.
What You Will Do:
- Architect and scale a knowledge engine that extracts deep game mechanics and strategies from diverse, unstructured data sources using RAG and vector search.
- Develop real-time visual understanding systems to recognize game states and player needs in milliseconds using OCR and scene understanding.
- Implement high-performance voice interaction pipelines using WebRTC and STT/TTS to ensure natural, zero-latency conversational assistance during intense gameplay.
The ideal candidate:
- Senior-level expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React with a proven track record of shipping full-stack features from schema design to UI.
- Deep hands-on experience building with LLMs, including multi-agent orchestration, prompt engineering, and managing context assembly under strict latency constraints.
- A dedicated gamer with deep domain knowledge of complex RPGs or competitive titles who understands the specific information needs of players mid-session.
