Since 2023, they have supported over 600 businesses and 15,000 workers, leveraging automation and AI to transform a traditionally broken system into a seamless global mobility platform.

Location: London, UK

You will join a high-impact engineering team of eight, building a full-stack platform that automates UK immigration. Working across TypeScript, React, and AWS, you’ll ship code ten times daily to solve complex logic and data modeling challenges. This role is pivotal in scaling Borderless as it expands into new international markets and sectors.

Why this role is remarkable:

  • Join a mission-driven team backed by Backed VC and Entrepreneur First, solving one of the most significant friction points in the global economy.
  • Work at the cutting edge of AI implementation, building LLM-driven document classifiers and security tools that redefine how immigration paperwork is handled.
  • Benefit from a culture of high ownership and speed, deploying to production multiple times daily within a small, elite engineering squad of roughly eight people.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain the core Borderless platform using TypeScript, React (NextJS), and Node.js to serve candidates, businesses, and internal teams.
  • Design and scale complex PostgreSQL data models to ensure high performance and extensibility as the product expands into new global jurisdictions.
  • Integrate advanced LLM and AI capabilities to automate document classification and extraction, significantly reducing manual overhead for international visa applicants and employers.

The ideal candidate:

  • Possesses 4-7+ years of professional engineering experience with a deep mastery of the full-stack: TypeScript, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of shipping fast and owning features end-to-end within the fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment of an early-stage startup.
  • Displays strong architectural thinking, especially regarding asynchronous workloads via AWS SQS and the trade-offs between speed-to-market and long-term technical stability.
