Company Description

Venture-backed London startup building AI-native personal judgment infrastructure.

Job Description

Join a high-velocity, early-stage team as the first engineering hire to build the future of personal intelligence from the ground up. You will design retrieval-augmented memory systems and lead macOS development to help users compound their knowledge into sharper instincts, directly shaping the technical architecture and product direction alongside the founders.

Location: London, UK or Remote

Why this role is remarkable

  • Transition from a ticket queue to a founding role where you define the machine and its purpose rather than just slotting into an existing process.
  • Join a venture-backed startup at the ground floor, gaining meaningful equity and the opportunity to influence the burgeoning AI ecosystem in London.
  • Work in a high-agency environment where your decisions on architecture and stack choices directly determine the trajectory of a new category in AI.

What You Will Do

  • Design and architect core memory infrastructure, focusing on retrieval, reasoning, and AI agent systems that make personal context useful.
  • Lead the development of the macOS desktop application, owning the user experience from initial concept to cross-platform expansion.
  • Collaborate directly with the CTO to set the engineering culture, defining how the team ships code, reviews work, and balances quality with speed.

The ideal candidate

  • Demonstrated expertise in backend or full-stack engineering with a high-agency mindset and a strong bias toward shipping over over-processing.
  • Experience building products from zero, ideally within a startup environment or through significant independent projects in the AI or developer tool space.
  • Deep intuition for product design and a customer-obsessed approach to gathering user feedback and iterating on complex, ambiguous technical problems.
