They orchestrate plug-in batteries as a flexible power fleet to cut congestion and free up capacity for data centres and heat pumps, deploying infrastructure in days rather than the decades required for traditional grid upgrades.
Job Description
As the first software hire at NODI Energy, you will design the entire cloud and platform layer from scratch. You will turn heterogeneous physical batteries into a reliable virtual power plant, working across connected hardware, real-time data, and external energy markets to build the technical foundation of a next-generation electric company.

The ideal candidate
- Demonstrable experience building complex distributed systems or real-time data platforms, with a focus on observability and designing for failure.
- A systems thinker who understands the intersection of software, hardware, and commercial value, capable of shipping production-ready code with incomplete information.
- Deep engineering ownership mindset, using AI as leverage and thriving in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment where you build, operate, and iterate end-to-end.
