Parsewise is a YC-backed startup building agentic infrastructure for high-consequence risk decisions in insurance. Founded by an ex-Palantir and ex-Bain team, Parsewise is backed by General Advance, Network VC, and prominent angels from OpenAI and Palantir to automate complex document ingestion and risk signaling for global underwriters.

As the first Forward Deployed Engineer at Parsewise, you will bridge the gap between complex customer workflows and core platform engineering. You’ll sit with underwriters in the morning to understand their requirements and build production-grade deployments in the afternoon. This high-impact role directly shapes the product and drives value for leading enterprise insurance partners.

Location: London, UK

Why this role is remarkable: Join as the first Forward Deployed Engineer, working directly with founders from Palantir and Bain to shape the company's deployment strategy and product roadmap. Backed by elite investors including Y Combinator, General Advance, and angels from OpenAI and McKinsey, operating at the cutting edge of AI for regulated industries. Directly impact revenue and product market fit by solving the hardest problems in unstructured data—hallucinations, explainability, and scalability—for leading global insurers.

What You Will Do:

  • Onboard insurance and reinsurance customers by deploying and configuring the Parsewise platform within their specific tech stacks and workflows.
  • Translate complex, real-world underwriting and claims documents into structured, decision-ready data configurations, often working side-by-side with customer SMEs.
  • Cycle between commercial activities and core engineering: scope use cases, run pilots, and build new features based on direct feedback from the field.

The ideal candidate:

  • Strong engineering foundation with the ability to write production-quality Python or TypeScript and integrate software directly into enterprise customer environments.
  • Proven ability to navigate commercial conversations and scope technical use cases; experience in insurance or reinsurance is highly valued but secondary to quick learning.
  • High-ownership mindset capable of shipping high-quality work in a fast-paced environment and earning trust with sophisticated, regulated buyers.
