Cubitts is a vertically integrated London-based spectacle maker with 13 stores, an e-commerce platform, and its own glazing lab and workshop. Based in King’s Cross, the company serves over 350,000 customers and is now building a dedicated "Skunk Works" team to revolutionise optics through internal AI engineering and automation.

Join a lean Skunk Works team to transform how Cubitts operates across its entire supply chain and retail footprint. You will build AI-powered tools, agents, and automations that solve real-world problems for 350,000 customers. This is a high-ownership role where you move fast, turning prototypes into production-ready internal applications and workflows.

What You Will Do

  • Build and deploy AI-powered agents, recommendation engines, and automation layers using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and prompt engineering.
  • Connect disparate internal systems via APIs and data pipelines to streamline customer order tracking, financial reporting, and inventory forecasting.
  • Prototype rapidly and work alongside a Product Manager and Data Scientist to turn messy operational requirements into usable internal tools.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven builder mindset with professional experience in software engineering using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL to ship production-ready applications.
  • Deep technical familiarity with APIs, databases, and AI orchestration tools, with a track record of building tools in scrappy or ambiguous environments.
