HOURS: 37.5hrs per week

Professional Registration & Legal Requirements (ESSENTIAL)
- Current NMC Registration with no restrictions.
- Evidence of right to work in the UK.
- Compliance with NMC Code, Duty of Candour, GDPR, and local governance standards.
- Up to date revalidation portfolio.
Clinical Experience Requirements (ESSENTIAL)
- Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in:
- Operating theatre
- Procedure Suite
- Endoscopy, minor ops, or ambulatory surgery
- Demonstrated competence in:
- Surgical safety processes (WHO checklist, swab counts)
- Scrub and circulating roles
- Infection prevention & control
- Aseptic Technique
- Patient preparation and recovery
- Experience supporting consultants during procedures.
(DESIRABLE)
- Experience in private healthcare settings.
- Experience leading small clinical teams.
- Experience with General, Venous, Urology, Colorectal, Gynaecology and Endoscopy lists.
Leadership & Management Criteria (ESSENTIAL)
- Ability to lead and coordinate theatre/procedure lists.
- Experience supervising staff (HCAs, Nurses, ODPs).
- Ability to manage daily operational flow, including:
- Patient scheduling
- Turnaround times
- Equipment readiness
- Theatre utilisation
- Strong communication skills with consultants, admin teams and management.
- Ability to conduct clinical audits, incident reviews and implement corrective actions.
- Experience writing or reviewing SOPs.
- Experience delivering staff training or competencies.
- Experience in stock control and procurement.
Technical & Clinical Competency Criteria (ESSENTIAL)
- Competent in:
- Scrub duties
- Circulating duties
- Surgical instrumentation
- Diathermy safety
- Specimen handling
- Surgical documentation
- Infection control audits
- Ability to manage procedure room safety, including:
- Fire safety
- Evacuation
- Equipment checks

- Cannulation and venepuncture
- ILS certification
- Experience with dermatology excisions, plastics, or minor ops
- Experience with conscious sedation environments
