LOCATION: JACE Private Hospital / Day Procedure Unit, GREYSTEEL

HOURS: 30 - 37.5hrs per week

SALARY: £36,000-£44,000 depending on scope & leadership experience

Professional Requirements (ESSENTIAL)

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) with active PIN.
  • Compliance with NMC code, Duty of Candour, GDPR.
  • Up to date mandatory training and revalidation.

Clinical Experience (ESSENTIAL)

  • 3+ years post registration experience in perioperative practice.
  • Competence in:
    • Scrub and circulating roles
    • WHO Surgical Safety Checklist
    • Aseptic technique
    • Infection prevention & control
    • Surgical instrumentation
    • Diathermy safety
    • Specimen handling
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision (consistent with Band 6 theatre profiles).

Leadership & Responsibility (ESSENTIAL)

  • Lead shifts or theatre lists.
  • Supervise junior staff and HCAs.
  • Provide mentorship and support training.
  • Manage equipment, stock, and safety checks.
  • Escalate clinical concerns appropriately.

Governance & Quality (ESSENTIAL)

  • Participate in audits (IPC, documentation, equipment).
  • Support incident reporting and learning.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and safety.
  • Understand RQIA/NICE/NMC governance frameworks.

(DESIRABLE)

  • ILS certification.
  • Experience in multiple specialities (plastics, dermatology, ENT, gynae, endoscopy).
  • Experience in private healthcare settings.
  • Ability to coordinate theatre lists independently.
  • Experience with quality improvement or SOP development.
