A High-end Japanese Restaurant is looking for a sushi chef.

Salary range: 30-40k / year (Negotiable depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate start

Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all types of sushi, including maki, nigiri and sashimi
  • Manage food prep activities, like boiling rice
  • Coordinate with waiting staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
  • Prepare appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
  • Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift

Requirements:

  • Work experience as a Sushi Chef or at an Asian restaurant (preferred)
  • Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques (preferred)
  • Work experience as a Chef
  • Team spirit
  • Availability to work during business hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Flexibility to take on various shifts
  • Ability to work both fast and accurately

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from a culinary school is a plus

Visa: Candidate must be eligible to work in the UK
