About the Role: We are operating an online store serving the UK market and are looking for an experienced and proactive E-commerce Operations & Growth Specialist to support the next stage of business growth. This role goes beyond day-to-day store management. You will take ownership of sales growth, marketing strategy, promotional planning, UX optimisation, and operational improvements, while developing and executing both B2B (small business-focused) and B2C (consumer-focused) sales and promotional strategies. You will also support hands-on operational tasks when required. This is a high-autonomy role where you will be involved in both strategic planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall management of the online shop and annual strategy planning
- Preparation of sales and KPI reports and reporting to stakeholders
- Planning and execution of sales and promotional strategies for both B2B (small businesses) and B2C (general households) channels
- Development of initiatives aimed at increasing online shop sales
- Planning and management of promotions such as sales and campaigns
- Operational improvements for the online shop, primarily using Shopify
- Operational support for order and inventory management as needed
- Uploading new products and optimizing product assortment
- UX improvements (site structure, navigation, content enhancement, etc.)
- Research and selection of new products to be handled
- Research, selection, and consideration of implementation for new agents (sales/partners) and delivery services
- Negotiation and direction with external agencies, agents, and delivery companies
Required Skills & Experience:
- Understanding of the UK online food market
- Experience in strategic planning for online businesses
- Hands-on marketing experience
- English: Business level
- Japanese: Business level
- Minimum 3 years of professional work experience
- Better to have: Experience living in Japan (highly preferred)
- Ability to speak Japanese (highly preferred)
- Experience in digital advertising setup and management
- Social media management experience
- Experience managing online shops using Shopify or similar platforms
- Strong interest in Japanese food and culture (highly preferred)
- Marketing and market research experience in the UK
- Practical experience in e-commerce or online business
- Experience in UX improvements and site redesign projects
- Knowledge and practical experience in SEO
- Basic coding skills (HTML/CSS)
- Experience in business development or launching new businesses
