Job Description
We are seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead and drive sales growth across all channels in the UK and Ireland. This role involves developing and implementing national sales strategies, managing key accounts, and leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious targets. You will work closely with internal departments and external partners to strengthen market presence and open new trading channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute national sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Manage diverse sales channels including national accounts, wholesale, retail, and direct delivery.
- Oversee sales budgets, forecasts, and reporting for senior management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.
- Identify new market opportunities and lead channel development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain high standards of professionalism.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain and operational efficiency.
- Represent the company at trade events and contribute to European-level sales activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior sales management role within FMCG or grocery retail.
- Proven track record in developing new channels and driving business growth.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and motivating performance.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and relationship management abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the UK and ROI retail market; chilled/ambient sector experience desirable.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage P&L and deliver margin improvements.
- Degree-level education desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across UK, ROI, and Europe.
- Self-driven, highly organized, and adaptable to fast-changing market conditions.
